Word Searcher 3 lets you search for more words for $5. If a handheld game is more your flavor, DSiWare brings the fishing game Big Bass Arcade for $5.

It's "the first game to simulate the exciting life of meerkats," and will cost you $10 (1,000 points) for the full version. For the low, low price of zero dollars, you can also pick up a demo of Lead the Meerkats. If you do have more than 800 points sitting around and want to buy something else as well, you could pick up Gabrielle's Ghostly Groove for $5 (500 points), a monster-themed dancing game for up to four players. It will cost you $8 (800 points) and - not to impugn the other games in this week's list - is definitely the thing you should buy if you haven't played it before (maybe even if you have). Chrono Trigger is probably best enjoyed if you don’t criticize how cliched or dated the story is.Nintendo unleashed its latest round of downloads today, including the previously announced SNES classic Chrono Trigger for Virtual Console. Story-wise, it has what you would expect from a JRPG it has the cliches and tropes associated with JRPGs nowadays, but back then, this was not much of a problem. Akira Toriyama’s timeless art style is also lent to this game for the portraits, all of which are quite excellent designs.

(Remember, this was before Square merged with Enix to become the Square Enix it is now, so this team-up was not as expected as you might think.) I’ve always felt that 2D games ages much better than the clunky polygons of the 90s (FFVII, or the original Tekken for example.) and this game is no exception. Chrono Trigger was developed by Square, with a development team which contained three developers known as the “Dream Team”: Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of the Final Fantasy series Yuji Horii, creator of the Dragon Quest series Akira Toriyama, the illustrator for pretty much all Dragon Quest games, but he’s most certainly better known as the man behind Dragon Ball. Chrono Trigger is a Role-Playing Game of the 90s, oftentimes cited by many videogame lists as one of the best games ever made, and believe me, they’re not wrong. Description: Chrono Trigger is a RPG game published by Square released on Augfor the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
